Introduction to the Enclave: Harbor View Hills is a community of prestigious homes situated in the northwest corner of Corona del Mar within walking distance of Fashion Island as well as the quaint restaurants and shops of Corona del Mar village. Defined to the west by the glistening sandy coastline and the Pacific Ocean, Corona del Mar offers an incredible number of amenities, including shopping at local businesses, strolling down tree-lined streets leading to beautiful public beaches, and close proximity to wonderful shopping and restaurants in Fashion Island. The homes in Harbor View Hills are on terraced hillsides offering some of the best ocean views of local coastal communities. Homes can range in price from the low $1million range to some more than $4million.

Bordered By: It is bordered by San Joaquin Hills Road to the north, to the east by Crown Drive North, to the south by Harbor View Drive and to the west by MacArthur Boulevard.

Views: Harbor View Hills offers some of the finest views of Newport Beach, Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach. Some include views from Palos Verdes to the north, and Laguna Beach and further to the south. Sunset views of Catalina and the Balboa Peninsula can be breathtaking.

Homes: Harbor View Hills homes were originally built in the early 1960s. There are more than 1,100 homes here. Many of the homes are single story. The original architecture was of the 1960s style ranch homes of simple wood and stucco exteriors. Over the past 20 years, extensive renovation and rebuilding has occurred with homes representing Mediterranean, Cape Cod and clean contemporary designs, reflecting the current architectural trends.

History of the Area: The city of Newport Beach annexed the small community of Corona del Mar in 1924. As is the case with many beach communities, the land eventually gained popularity as a summer resort, with people crowding into small cottages that now, for the most part, have been torn down.

How the Community Has Evolved: Today, the community has evolved into one of the premiere coastal communities with pristine beaches and wonderful dining and shopping. You can spend a weekend enjoying the village and never get into your car. Beaches are within easy strolling distance, and the community has a number of restaurants and cafes along Pacific Coast Highway, where residents can sit with a cup of coffee and a newspaper.

Community Features/Amenities/Special Events: Corona del Mar hosts many fun events throughout the year including a 5K run, a sandcastle building contest at Corona del Mar Main Beach, Shakespeare by the Sea and concerts at the local parks. The annual Christmas Walk in the village and the Taste of Newport culinary event in Fashion Island are particularly popular.

Why You Love Living Here: Corona del Mar is the most charming place I have ever experienced. I love walking the village, enjoying evening strolls to Inspiration Point above Corona del Mar beach and the friendliness of the people in the community. Walk the village or stroll along the beach and you will find it easy to engage with local residents who are friendly and helpful.
