Q: What are the first steps in considering a move?
A: The first step is meeting with us to review the condition and value of the home. We will discuss where the client is thinking of moving so we can plan together a step-by-step timeline for the home sale process and move.
Q:What are the most common concerns of seniors?
A: Seniors are often concerned about leaving the familiarity of their longtime residence. They are not sure where to start with organizing the household to be prepared for showings. The biggest concern is where they are going to move to next.
Q: How do you address those concerns as agents?
A: We take a proactive approach in referring to the homeowner any vendors that need to be scheduled from decluttering to light repairs to clean up. We advise on which projects are worthwhile to net more from the sale and which can be left as is. Many seniors prefer to be surrounded by their own furnishings during the home sale. In those cases, we advise how to stage the home with existing furniture, which keeps them comfortable but also presents the home best to obtain the highest price possible. We assist with any lease, purchase or assisted living community recommendations for their new home.
Q: Why did you obtain the Senior Real Estate Specialist designation?
A: Since helping numerous seniors since the beginning of our careers, we have found it a special calling to guide homeowners who are making a major life move.   e designation by the National Association of Realtors has provided us extended education to assist clients through such a time of transition.
Q: What do you enjoy about helping seniors?
A: Buying or selling a home is a huge life event. We enjoy helping and getting to know our clients through a very personal time. We pride ourselves on the guidance and expertise we can lend with a genuine interest in their satisfaction.
