The Benefits of Vacation Rentals
Why you should invest in one and what it takes to manage it
My name is Todd Davis, and I am honored to have been chosen as your Agent of the Week. My passion for homes started over 25 years ago owning and producing trade shows specializing in the homebuilding industry and the luxury kitchen and bath markets. After selling my exhibition company, I made the transition to real estate where I have had the pleasure of selling and leasing luxury real estate for the past 18 years.
One thing that most might not know about me is that in addition to being a real estate broker, I also have 18 years of vacation rental and property management experience. Currently, I own and operate a luxury vacation rental agency here on Balboa Island and another in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Fun fact: I have had the pleasure of offering exclusive homes and services to a range of Hollywood elites, including John Travolta, Russell Crowe, Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, and even Oprah Winfrey!
All of this is to say that I am extremely passionate about the vacation rental industry. I believe investing in a vacation rental property can be an exciting and lucrative venture with many advantages, including generating passive income, diversifying your portfolio, tax benefits, potential appreciation, personal use of home, and more.
That being said, while owning a vacation rental property comes with benefits, there are also a lot of things to consider—location and regulations, financing, amenities, marketing, operating expenses, management of tenancies, and general property management. It can be a lot!
